this is partly a meditation on my past as a low-budget grant-aided independent film-maker – specifically the experience of editing my first 16mm b+w film, Zombie UB40, using a Steenbeck flatbed editor, whose faulty tension ripped most of my sprockets, making the cutting copy practically un-viewable.

so often change = loss
and it looks like my print of Zombie UB40 is lost… forever?
i don’t know… maybe it’ll turn up somewhere…
after stumping up our hard-earned cash, my partner and i finally got some of our old film and video productions transferred to digital media. it turns out it wasn’t my 16mm print in the can labelled Zombie UB40 but a print of Contortions, a film by our old friend Mike Stubbs.
a costly mistake
lost more than loose change
